These minerals are present in all types of water but they concentrate to higher levels in water that continually evaporates and refills because when water evaporates the minerals do not evaporate with it, leaving all the minerals in the water, then, when new water is added to the pool more minerals are added with it.
Over time this process of chemical and mineral buildup can work to turn the water in your pool "hard".
For this purpose we recommend a swimming pool drain at least once every three years. These periodic drains will allow your swimming pool water to be replaced at the time when it is starting to get hard.
